By way of Taiwan and then California, a new frozen drink has come to Newport News, Bubble Tea Smoothies. On one of our frequent visits to Bamboo One Vietnamese Restaurant for their best in the area Pho (beef broth soup), we were delighted at the new addition of Bubble Tea Smoothies. Normally we would get the traditional Vietnamese iced coffee, but the owner suggested we try the cappuccino bubble tea instead. How delicious and fun.

The frozen drink has plenty of coffee taste and the bubble tapioca is fun to suck up the extra wide straw and chew. So far we've tried the strawberry, cappuccino, mango and the indescribable and my favorite of the fruit flavors, taro.
I would like to try the lychee and the coconut, too; but the taro is so good and not too sweet, that I'll probably get that again. At $3.25, the price is reasonable for something so fresh and good. My co-workers are sending me up there now for take-out. Angie will be having Thai tea, Lynn is trying the pina colada and Martin the green tea.
