The first we heard about Moo-ville Creamy was when White Velvet Frozen Yogurt owner Nancy Bruce said in February that she used the creamery’s milk to make her frozen yogurt. You have to have good milk to make a special yogurt, right? Moo-ville milks only 90 Holstein cows.

In the processing room, the milk feeds by gravity into a cooling tank instead of being pumped. The milk is treated as gently and naturally as possible, said Moo-ville owner Doug Westendrop. A month ago, Moo-ville began to sell its ice cream in Kalamazoo for the first time at Harding’s Marketplace, 5161 W. Main St. Sale of milk began two weeks ago. Moo-ville also sells milk, butter, cheese and ice cream at the Richland Harding’s Friendly Market, 8900 Gull Road.
Moo-ville was established six years ago. It has already established sales outlets in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids and Lansing. The ice cream catches attention because of its containers, mix of flavors and, well, it’s good for you. The ice cream available at Harding’s include: the Choclinator, with chunks of chocolate and Oreos and swirls of fudge; Grasshoper, mint ice cream with Oreo pieces; Sticky Fingers, butterscotch ice cream with pieces of Butterfinger candy bar and Amaretto Cherry Chip, with pieces of chocolate and maraschino cherries. There are about 12 ice cream flavors from Moo-ville at the supermarket in all. The ice cream is sold in half-gallon containers for $6.99.
