I scream, you scream, everybody loves ice cream. And what better way to make the most of those hectic school holidays, than to relax in the garden and indulge in a cool ice-cream sundae. Once you’ve bought the basic ice-cream ingredients, you can leave the creation of the sundaes to your kids and their imaginations.

To get them started here are a few recipe ideas: The ice cream Play safe and buy your staple vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavour ice-cream. Make sure you’ve got tall Knickerbocker Glory glaces and those long ice-cream sundae spoons, so you can reach the sticky chocolate and gummy bears at the bottom.
Naughty toppings: Ingredients and method
1. Get a handful of gummie bears, M&Ms and Maltesers, and throw them into the bottom of the glass, followed by chocolate sauce (see recipe below), and big dollop of jelly.
2. Follow with a mixture of the ice-cream flavours into the sundae class, leaving vanilla as the top scoop.
3. Squirt on cream and poor on the freshly made hot chocolate sauce. Deliciously addictive.
