cAn ice cream vendor with a pushcart was intercepted by two men in a minivan around 2:30 p.m. near Meadow Homes Park on Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately for the vendor, police said, the duo weren't seeking relief from the heat.

One of the men pointed a gun at the vendor after getting out of the vehicle and robbed him of cash, Concord police Lt. Bill Roche said. The gunman then fled in the vehicle along with the other suspect. Police described both suspects as Hispanic males between 18 and 25 years old. One is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, around 150 pounds, with short hair and wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans. The other one is between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11, closer to 160 pounds, and has a large Afro. The two escaped in an older, dirty green minivan that had a "rounded" appearance, Roche said. Police said it was possibly a Nissan Quest.
