Summer is still in full swing with a whole new slate of weekend events. Grab a scoop of free ice cream at the Grand Scoop, check out a spooky movie or head out for some great tunes – national and local acts will be on hand to entertain this weekend.

Waterfest
Community night at Waterfest means two-for-one admission before 6 p.m. today and the chance to see one of the most popular British bands from the ’60s. No, not that band – the other one: Herman’s Hermits starring legendary musician Peter Noone. The band is best known for several top 20 hits including “I’m Henry VII, I Am,” and “Mrs. Brown You’re Got a Lovely Daughter.” Opening is Road Trip and The School of Rock.
Pianist Lorie Line & Her Fab Five
Lorie Line’s career beginnings included entertaining shoppers in Minneapolis with her piano playing. Today she owns one of the largest independent record companies in the world and has recorded 27 CDs. Line, along with five musicians, will play music off two albums, “Serendipity” and “Vogue,” at the Grand Opera House when they visit Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $38.
Friday Fright Movie
Who needs a new release when there are so many classics to watch? That’s what the Oshkosh Horror organization wants you to discover by providing a free showing of “Killers From Space” at the Time Community Theater Friday at 8 p.m. According to www.imbd.com the 1954 movie is about a dead scientist revived by aliens to help them conquer the world.
